Sha Sha Harnik - President
A graduate of Emory University, Sha Sha Harnik began her career in
1995 on Hilton Head Island, working for a major event design
company as a Special Events Manager on hundreds of successful
events. During the past twelve years, she has produced important
events for many Fortune 500 corporations, non-profit organizations,
and top-level social clients. After relocating to Charleston, South
Carolina in 1998, Sha Sha launched a successful special event
company, in the capacity of general manager and lead designer,
focusing on developing corporate and social event clients in the
Charleston market. During this time, Sha Sha worked on
numerous corporate and social events in the Charleston and
surrounding cities, traveling as far as Scottsdale Arizona for a
Destination Wedding. Highlighted events during this time
included publication in Carolina Bride magazine for a destination
wedding, and Décor co-Chairperson of the NACE 2002 National
Meeting. Sha Sha also designed the décor for the 2005 Arthur
Ravenel Bridge Opening Gala.
In 2007, Sha Sha took over the reins at Distinctive Events,
already a well established event design and planning company,
specializing in Destination Weddings, Corporate, Charitable and
Social events. Infusing new life into a well respected and
established company with clear vision and focus, Ms. Harnik also
directs all business operations and is the lead contact and
designer for all major events contracted by the company. Sha Sha’s
experience and expertise are in designing and producing the most
exquisite events that require attention to detail for discerning
clients who value quality, creativity, and commitment to the
highest standards and values of corporate, social and destination
