Charleston Event Planning Company
After years of traveling around the country for my career, I realized that Charleston is one of the most unique cities in the country.
Whenever I’m asked to explain why I say that, I start making a list of all the interesting places in and around the city. Oddly enough,
some of the places I describe also have been backdrops used by Charleston event planning companies for various events I’ve attended over the past
20 years or so.
The good news for any Charleston event planning company is that there are plenty of great venues for interesting and
effective events. Let’s take a look at a few, gathered under some very broad categories that a Charleston event planning company might use
to describe the type of venue.
- Historical. Where else can you start in a city like Charleston? The Charleston event planning company that wants to provide
historical venues for your event can choose from plantations, city homes, antebellum estates and numerous areas inside and out. There
are a number of historical homes that can serve as the perfect backdrop for an elegant and interesting event.
- Military. The Charleston event planning company that wants to provide a patriotic backdrop has some great choices, from the
Revolutionary War to present. Ft. Moultrie, a Revolutionary War fort that allowed Charleston to stay resistant to the British Navy,
offers some areas where you can connect with the distant past. The Citadel, a state-supported military that has trained soldiers since
pre-Civil War times, sits just off the historic area and offers some wonderful venues for various events. Just north of downtown
is the Navy Yard at Noisette, the former U.S. Navy Base along the Cooper River. The city of North Charleston has established a military
memorial at its Riverfront Park. At Patriot’s Point in Mt. Pleasant, the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier is permanently docked along the
Cooper River and is a great location for a number of events.
- Back to Nature. Charleston County is blessed with a number of very nice public parks, from those located along the beaches to
others that are further inland. Each one offers banquet facilities, although somewhat rustic. Charleston event planning companies
use them for various informal picnics and relaxed occasions. The great thing about these venues is the ability to provide recreational
activities close to the event which helps increase the “fun quotient” of your event.
Of course, this is just a short list of the many possibilities. A good Charleston event planning company can take this list and provide
many, many more. As you look for ways to make your event truly special, look no further than Charleston, SC.
