For the most part, looking at the list of Charleston event planning companies start to look like a long list of wedding planners.  That makes sense when you consider the number of weddings that occur in Charleston on any given weekend, and the city certainly has everything a blushing bride would want for her special celebration.  There are Charleston event planning companies that also specialize in corporate events, and Distinctive Events is one of them.

Sha Sha Harnik cut her teeth doing major events for all sorts of companies, and brings her considerable talent to her new company.  As Charleston event planning companies go, Distinctive Events has some great advantages.  For example, having great props at her disposal makes implementing events easier and cheaper.  When I asked Sha Sha to help with a major gala, we were able to improve the quality of the food because Sha Sha had a number of props that were much cheaper to use than if we had to construct them or rent them from an outside vendor.  Being able to take the food up a notch meant the world to the event, and the guests were still impressed with the décor as well.

Another aspect of working with Charleston event planning companies is the ability to make magic happen in even the most humble surroundings.  Have you ever seen an empty storefront in a shopping center still under construction?  It’s not exactly and elegant ballroom, and transforming this messy canvas into a masterpiece takes vision and talent.  To say that Sha Sha pulled it off would be understatement.  More importantly, she pulled it off well within our budget.  (It’s always a better event when you know you have not blown the budget!)   Sha Sha and her designers took some very simple elements and weaved magic in a very challenging venue.  Not only did she make me look good, but she also won over a whole host of “fans” who joined us for the event.

Part of being a creative person in my own right means that I know great design, and I can recognize talent when I see it.  When looking over the list of Charleston event planning companies, I can’t think of any other group that fits the bill.  Distinctive Events is an appropriate name.
